Healing With Horse is the name we give to our Therapy Program because without our horses, much of the profound changes and healing that take place would simple not. Horses are such amazing therapist and healers. Whether it’s their perfectly designed walking gait that attends to the physical body or their attitude, intuition and heart that is “medicine” for the mind and spirit, it is the horse that we chose as our teammate.
Trinity Equestrian Center's Healing With Horses therapy program offers two separate and unique forms of equine assisted therapy. The first is a therapy that relies on the physique of the horse to deliver the miraculous healing therapy by using the walking gait of the horse called Therapeutic Riding. The other is a therapy that relies on the psyche of the horse called Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. It’s the head and heart of this intuitive animal that delivers the incredibly effective therapy.
“Our vision is a partnership with our horses in order to positively change the mind, body and spirit”. - Toni Mattson - Equine Specialist

Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic Riding provides structured horseback riding sessions for children and adults with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. Our instructors are nationally certified in Therapeutic Riding through NARHA and our volunteers and horses have been carefully selected and trained for their roles.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy(EAP) incorporates horses experientially for emotional growth and learning. It is a collaborative effort with a treatment team of three; a licensed therapist, an equine specialist and a horse.
Unlike traditional office sessions, which rely almost entirely on self-report, equine facilitated sessions allow for direct observation of behaviors, emotional responses and patterns, in real-time situations. The experiential nature of EAP allows a therapist and client to practice new behaviors in a dynamic situation with a living creature.
Equine Assisted Learning
Equine Assisted Learning(EAL) has many of the same approaches and goals as EAP, but is less focused on deep psychotherapy and more focused on building pro-social skills and human development. This therapy is often conducted in groups and is very effective in promoting healthy relationships, personal responsibility, confidence, creative-thinking, problem solving, leadership and teamwork.
EAP for Veterans - TEC's Operation WE CARE
Operation WE CARE
is Trinity's Veterans program offering equine assisted therapy at no cost to returning and recovering veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other combat related issues. This program is at no cost to qualified military individuals and their families. Please call Toni at 715-828-6784 or visit www.trinity-ec.com for registration information or more details. Thank you for all you do and have sacrificed for all of us.
Understanding the strategies for combat survival as well as what symptoms might be exhibited in post war veterans upon re-introduction to civilian life is what makes this form of therapy so effective.
The issues that EAP is particularly effective for are PTSD, depression, addictions, grief issues, identity problems, panic at-tacks, sleep disorders and religious or spiritual problems.
The EAP experience allows an immediate forum to explore different ways to address and help begin to solve these concerns by:
- A nature induced sense of well being and calm.
- An ability to make future plans and be goal directed.
- An ability to communicate feelings & thoughts openly.
- Shedding emotional armor to bring intimacy back into one’s life.
- Increasing skills in problem solving.
- An ability to cope effectively with emotions and behaviors.
Youth Development
TEC's Youth Development program is designed to help
youth grow and develop into responsible, well-adjusted, and healthy young adult.
The program includes customized mentoring sessions where the student will be involved with ranch functions and areas of passion all while teaching Godly characteristics and developing social skills.
