Horsepower for Veterans

Match Your Passion with Purpose and Help Change Lives!

Lend a helping hand. Volunteers make it possible for Trinity to exist and change the lives for so many people every year.

The time, energy, effort, and hours upon hours that are devoted to us and our programs are incredible. It's impossible to compose the right words or capture our deep appreciation for all our volunteers. We cannot thank you enough!

Match your Passion with Purpose and Change Lives. We are in search of volunteers! This is your chance to get involved with a unique therapy program for kids and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities, find your place and purpose in the Eau Claire community, and get rewarded! No matter what your strengths or desires we have a position for you. We are currently in search of compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated volunteers to help with Therapeutic Riding group lessons.  To accomplish lesson and client goals we need side walkers and horse leaders.
Horse leaders are responsible for catching, grooming, and getting the horse ready for a lesson. Horse leaders will also walk the horses during the therapy lesson to ensure safety of all horses and people involved. Horse leaders concern is for the horse.
Side walkers are responsible for the safety and well-being of the kids or adults receiving therapy. Side walkers walk alongside the client and help convey instructions from the instructor. Some clients need one on one help depending on disability so that is where our volunteers come in!
Volunteer awards are available depending on how much time you are willing to dedicate. We also host four volunteer orientations a year as well as four volunteer appreciation nights!

Time commitment – The required time commitment is at least one hour per week for at least five weeks. One hour equals one therapy lesson.

Testimonials

"My husband, Chuck, and I have volunteered at Trinity Equestrian Center for 6 years. We help put on the fundraiser each summer, Horsepower for Veterans Motorcycle run, that raises money for Trinity's veteran program.  We also help with therapeutic riding for children and adults.

Trinity is such a great place to volunteer! The staff is great, and they so appreciate their volunteers. Of course, it's wonderful being around the horses too! They are so calm, which helps the person riding and the volunteer. It is very rewarding to help people, not only do they enjoy their riding time, but it is also rewarding for us - To see people smile and laugh, is worthwhile for all. To hear a child say, "I'm so happy!" really tells the story!

We hope we have many more years to be a volunteer with the Trinity family because that is what they are to us!"

— CHERI AND CHUCK CASE,
