Four Legged Family
Four Legged Family

AmyAmy
Amy Curtis started as one of our
Trail Wranglers in the summer of 2003. Since then, she has become one of our volunteers, weekend chore workers and boarders. Her horse experience began as a kid with the family Morgans, and continued with lessons at Whitecap Mountain in Upson, WI. Although formal arena training wasn't available, lessons on the trail were very educational! Amy has since become the proud owner of Trinity's own Tough Boston Nite (aka Jake), and co-adopter of Dakota, a young QH gelding with quite the background. She has been working
with Dakota since the summer of '06, and they are finally under saddle and looking forward to a future of team penning and cattle work. Come on out
to Trinity, she'd be happy to meet you!

I have been volunteering at Trinity for four years ( and have loved every minute of it!!!!!!!!!!) . At first, I did not know anything about horses. I loved them, but didn't have an opportunity to learn more about them. I am home schooled so I started go to Trinity in the mornings, from about 9:00 am to 11:30 am on Thursdays . It was a short time but I would look foreword to it all week. I would fill the water tanks, watch the horses in the pasture, and clean out stalls. About the same time I started volunteering, I went to the level 1 horse camp. I had an awesome time and learned a lot. Then the next summer I took level 2 that Fall I was lucky enough to get a rescue horse from my aunt 's non- profit organization. We had no place to put my new horse so we kept her at Trinity until we could put up a fence and barn. The next year I took the my horse home. But I kept working at the barn. This all was three years ago and now I head to the barn at 8:00 am and stay until about 5:00 pm once a week. I have two horses at home, but I am hired by a boarder to ride two horses at Trinity. I have won a blue ribbon at a horse show, and I hope to be a trainer when I am older. For now, I just love to help out in the barn and play, laugh and learn with all of the friends I have made at Trinity ( both people and equines!) I have had an awesome experience at Trinity. They have been willing to teach me everything they know about horses and life in general. Thank you Trinity.

I started volunteering
at Trinity in December of 2006. I usually come out
on Saturdays to help with weekend chores but also helped out with Ranch
Care this past summer.
I'm 15 years old and
attend Altoona High School. My plans are to become a Veterinarian, maybe even specialize in Equine medicine. While I'm
at Trinity, you'll either
find me cleaning a stall, feeding the horses or out
in the pastures petting the horses... especially Mister and Turk. I feel like the staff and other volunteers
at Trinity are like a family, and I feel privileged to be a part of the family.

Having loved horses all my life, I was thrilled to join TEC's volunteer team in 2004. I have enjoyed being part of everything at Trinity, including helping Jan clean stalls, being a wrangler for weekend trail rides, taking the lead in special events, birthday parties and all the wonderful activities and programs that
TEC hosts. In addition, I recently become a member of TEC's Creative Team. This amazing group of community members and area professionals plan and execute the many large annual events at the ranch like Family Fun Day and the Ride to Provide. At Trinity, when you become a volunteer, its like joining their family. We share many meals, many gatherings, our immense love of horses, an overwhelming desire to serve our community, and a sincere fellowship that truly is soul-food for me. In addition, I have simply fallen in love with Woody, one of Trinity's donated horses, who has become one of my best friends and constant companion. Life is so much fun at Trinity, I want them to adopt me.

Karen Anderson is an outdoorsy kind of gal,
with a love for downhill skiing, biking, camping and of course, horses. Mom to Kelly and Aric
and Gramma to 6 year
old twins, Dylan and Joe, Karen is a Massage Therapist in Eau Claire. Her love for Volunteering brought her to Trinity a year and a half ago to become involved the women's program called Tuesdays At Trinity. In Karen's words; "I never knew how therapeutic cleaning horse stalls could be! What a blessing it is to
know Trinity and it's people."

I first started volunteering at Trinity in 2004 during my sophomore year at UW-Eau Claire. I am originally from North St. Paul, Minnesota, but traveled to Eau Claire to obtain a degree in elementary education. I will be graduating in December of 2007 and then looking for a teaching position somewhere in the Chippewa Valley. I have been horseback riding for almost ten years now and find it to be my true passion. Before moving to Eau Claire, I took riding lessons at a local barn in Minnesota, where I participated in a drill team and competed at the local level. Since then, I have purchased my own horse, Tiger, and have begun to give lessons for the Tuesdays at Trinity women's group. Western riding is my primary focus, with a love for barrel racing and other speed events. In being at Trinity, my wish is to share my love of horses with others while helping people learn, as well as, partnering with a great organization as they connect people, horses and God.

I "found" Trinity in 2004 through another volunteer. I hadn't been on a horse in twenty years! I started out by wrangling on the trail rides and then started helping out with birthday parties, large gatherings, sprucing up the place, stable cleaning, Family Fun Day, etc. I have adored horses since I was 7 years old and actually owned my own quarter horse mare for 15 years, but didn't ride very often. It wasn't until I came to Trinity, after retiring, that my love for horses really blossomed. The reason for this was a wonderful black quarter horse named McQ. He took such good care of me on trail and never, ever let me down. Although I love the riding part, it's the absolutely wonderful camaraderie and friendship that I've found at Trinity that is so important to me. I absolutely love being there and will do just about any chore so that I can be there! The owners make me feel like I was born into their family and I consider the other volunteers to be precious new friends. Trinity is the best place in the world!
